Wall Street Journal editor in chief Emma Tucker sent out the following on Monday:

Dear all,

I am pleased to announce the following appointments and vacancies:

Yumiko Ono will take on full leadership of our APAC foreign language teams, including the Japanese Language Service, the Chinese Language Service, JWSJ and CWSJ. She will report to Chip Cummins, Chief Newswires Editor. The Newswires organization already manages our German Language Service, as well as providing editorial oversight over other Dow Jones Newswires and WSJ language initiatives around the world. George Nishiyama, Forrest Cai, and Xiao Li will report to Yumiko, who will remain based in Singapore. She will also continue to work with other business partners inside Dow Jones on initiatives in APAC.

Yumiko has had a distinguished career as a reporter and editor in Japan, New York and across Asia. She was a founding editor of JWSJ in 2009, and she has long played an entrepreneurial role in the newsroom, including the introduction of popular Japanese and Chinese-language seminars and other special coverage.

Mauro Orru has been promoted to Real-Time Editor, EMEA in Barcelona. He will be responsible for creating stories for a wider audience and identifying important breaking news across regions.

Ben Otto is now Senior Editor, Breaking News, APAC. He leads a team of reporters covering equities markets in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, and coordinates coverage with other regions. Previously, Ben served as a Breaking News Editor and a Southeast Asia Correspondent for The Wall Street Journal.

Emily Schwartzberg has been promoted from Manager, SEO & Analytics to Deputy Director of Newsroom SEO, reporting to Ed Hyatt.
