It’s the year 2008. You’re watching Bella Marie Swan guffaw at Edward Cullen, whose pale vampire skin is glistening under the sunlight in a secluded meadow in Washington State’s rainy town of Forks. Twilight, the novel turned motion picture, inarguably captivated the hearts of many back then — and it’s officially imbued its potent vampire aesthetic onto TikTok

“Vampire skin” is trending, and TikTok user August Sombatkamrai is to thank for this candescent makeup look. Videos under the hashtag #vampireskin have collected more than 1.5 million views to date, with Twilight romantics or simply glitter fanatics showcasing their own glitter-infused complexions.

Cue the Twilight soundtrack and get to mixing pigments, because glimmer season is officially in session. In their original vampire skin video, which has 1.8 million views and counting, Sombatkamrai began by pumping a few drops of the MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation onto the back of their hand. Alongside the foundation, they applied Made by Mitchell Blursh Liquid Highlight in shade Drip Drip and the Beauty Bay Liquid Crystal Eye Shadow in shade Precious Topaz onto the back of their hand as well.

Sombatkamrai mixed the three products together on the back of their hand prior to dabbing and blending the mixture onto their face – a universal step TikTok users have showcased when recreating the vampire skin look themselves.

Although Sombatkamrai tells Allure that there’s “really not one strict routine” to abide by, they went on to describe what techniques go into their own specific vampire skin in their highly requested follow-up TikTok video. “The trick is to actually not use too much foundation,” they say, noting that only one pump of your go-to sheer-coverage foundation is necessary for your concoction of liquid pigments.

You’re more than welcome to conclude your shimmery vampire look right then and there… unless you’re interested in locking it all in (we love an extended glow), which you can do with powdered eye shadow instead of a traditional setting powder (don’t wanna dampen the sparkle).

In their video, Sombatkamrai went in with the Urban Decay 24/7 Moondust Eye Shadow in shade Space Cowboy, Nabla Cosmetics’ Miami Lights Glitter Palette, and the Sleek MakeUp Face Form Blush in shade Feelin Like a Snack. \
