Jennifer Lopez always makes an entrance. The actor’s presence regularly causes necks to turn and jaws to drop — no matter what she is wearing. Monday night at the Met Gala, stars dressed in honor of the late Karl Lagerfeld, and J.Lo did that in a glowing fashion with the most classic look of the evening.
It all starts with her skin care. “My first step before a long night in front of cameras is to prep my skin,” Lopez tells Allure. It’s no surprise she used her namesake line to do so. “J.Lo Beauty. That Limitless Glow Sheet Mask is my secret trick before any big event – especially after a long flight to New York City. In just 20 minutes, it makes my skin feel smooth and tight.”
With her skin refreshed, makeup artist Ash K. Holm’s goal was to “let [Lopez’s] natural beauty shine through the glam,” Holm says. Peeking from under a fascinator, was J.Lo’s signature glow, enhanced with Nars Radiant Cream Concealer in Macadamia. On the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, less than half of her face was in full view — but it is all we needed to see The Mother actor was radiant as ever.
As a compliment to the blush pink of Lopez’s dress, a matching shade of rose is applied to her lips. Holm’s says after prepping with Buxom Power Line Plumping Lip Liner in Hush Hush Henna, she layered on Buxom Plump Shot Collagen Infused Lip Serum to add shine.
In line with the timeless appeal of Lopez’s look, a sleek chignon only made sense. Hairstylist Lorenzo Martin slicked her hair back into a tight ponytail, before twirling into a bun. Velvet bobby pins and a strong gust of L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold Unscented Hairspray ensured everything stayed in place.
And under her black gloves, we imagine there is a pristine manicure, waiting to be seen inside tonight’s festivities at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. But that’s the beauty of quiet luxury — it doesn’t always have to be on display.
