Aaron Morrison

The Associated Press has appointed Aaron Morrison race and ethnicity news editor, upped from his recent post of race and ethnicity national writer. He begins Aug. 28.

Prior to joining the AP in March 2020, Morrison was a senior reporter at New York-based nonprofit The Appeal, which provides information about the harms of the U.S. criminal system and highlights solutions to keep people safe.

He also covered race, social inequity, policing and criminal justice as a senior staff writer for Mic. He wrote for International Business Times and North Jersey Media Group, and was a United Nations correspondent at The Miami Herald.

He also reported for Gannett and The Associated Press.

Morrison has a B.A. in journalism from San Francisco State University.
