Mr. Harrigan’s Phone (Netflix, October 5)
It would not be a Halloween movie-watching season without a new Stephen King adaptation. Netflix delivers with this film, based on King’s short story of the same name. Donald Sutherland plays Mr. Harrigan, who makes friends with a young kid. That child, Craig, gives Mr. Harrigan a mobile phone, not long before Harrigan passes away. When Craig starts to call Mr. Harrigan’s old number to vent about some other kids that bully him, he gets a response from someone. Is Mr. Harrigan talking to Craig from beyond the grave, and what will he do to “help” his young friend deal with these bullies?

Werewolf By Night (Disney Plus, October 7)
The Marvel Cinematic Universe finally gets deep into the horror genre with this first one-shot special on Disney Plus. However, he now has a game for these hunters to play; fight and defeat a new monster on the grounds of his estate, and the winner gets to keep a ruby red bloodstone that the monster has on the back of his head. Marvel Comics fans will get to see a number of characters make their MCU debuts in this special.
Hellraiser (Hulu, October 7)
Horror writer Clive Barker wrote and directed the original Hellraiser movie, and it has since spawned many sequels. Now Hulu is doing a hard reboot of the franchise, with Barker’s blessing, in this movie adaptation.
