Happy October and solar return, Scorpio, your season begins this month, and there are many reasons to celebrate. Last month was rather stressful, especially when romantic Venus squared (a stressful aspect) your ruling planet, warrior Mars. However, your birthday season looks to be joyful. When Mercury retrograde ends on Sunday, October 2, try to let go of any corresponding anxiety. Last month is over, as are any frustrating travel or communication delays you went through. Your job now is celebrating you (and Halloween, of course).

Pluto, one of your ruling planets and the lord of the underworld, goes direct in Capricorn on Saturday, October 8. The transformative planet has been retrograde since April. When Pluto goes retrograde, it asks us to check in with part of our life and make sure that our needs are being met. Because this retrograde lit up the part of your chart that rules friendship, you may have seen shifts in your social circle. Even if you simply (and rightfully) pulled away from any fair-weather friends, or those who don’t lift you, changes regarding friendships can be even more heartbreaking than the end of romantic relationships, and our society doesn’t talk about mourning platonic relationships enough. However, now that Pluto is direct, you should see yourself happily settling into your current social life and appreciating the ride-or-die friends that always have your back.

While there should be plenty of Halloween (and birthday) parties once your season starts, try to stay in during the full moon in Aries on Sunday, October 9. This is a night to prioritize your health by indulging in lots of self-love and rest. Take a hot bath, spend some time with a sex toy, and tap into your creative side by playing with Halloween makeup and costume ideas.

Break out the bubbly because Scorpio season begins on Sunday, October 23. Happy solar return, you sexy, mysterious, creative (and sometimes jealous) beautiful creature. This time of year, everyone wants to act like a witchy Scorpio, so feel free to brag about being one. On this same date, Sunday, October 23, Venus, the planet that governs love, beauty, and money, enters your sign. This transit helps you feel confident and ready to celebrate your birthday, even if it’s a chilled-out dinner with friends or even doing something special on your own. Life can be hard, Scorpio, and as the sign of sex, death, and transformation, you know it. So, it’s important to balance darkness with lightness by recognizing holidays and joyous events.

However, circle Tuesday, October 25, in your calendar because this is a day for rest rather than partying. There’s a new moon and solar eclipse in your sign, Scorpio. Eclipses are dramatic cosmic events associated with paranoia and sudden and unexpected endings. Please don’t assume the worst (Scorpios are good at that) and expect your world to fall apart. Rather, simply sooth any eclipse-induced anxiety by treating yourself to low-key fun such as costume planning or engaging in your favorite hobby.

Aside from the eclipse, considering you’ve been through a lot of stress lately, you deserve to dance, dress up, and celebrate life. You might struggle with motivation to go out because your other ruling planet, warrior Mars goes retrograde in Gemini on Sunday, October 30. When Mars goes retrograde, it feels like the wind got taken out of your sails, and it’s normal to struggle with motivation. If you really need to take it easy, trust yourself and do so, but if you can, try not to let Mars retrograde get you down. It’s your birthday and Halloween season, and the more captivating Scorpios celebrating, the more fun everyone else will have. You are the leader of Scorpio season, after all. Have fun, and see you next month.
