Wall Street Journal editor in chief Emma Tucker sent out the following on Wednesday:

David Crow is joining The Wall Street Journal on December 11 as Executive Editor, a new senior role in the newsroom.

As Executive Editor, David will manage news, features and digital storytelling across our digital platforms. His mission will be to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our audience at all times. He’ll lead the teams that operate our platforms and will report to Editor in Chief Emma Tucker. He’ll work closely with other members of the senior editorial team to deliver world-class journalism.

David comes to us from the Financial Times, where he has held a variety of business-reporting and editing positions. As a reporter covering the pharmaceutical industry, he did standout investigative work on opioids and price-gouging. He was the FT’s coronavirus correspondent during the pandemic and its U.S. Political News Editor during the 2020 election. Before that, he was Banking Editor. He is currently U.S. News Editor and Executive Editor, based in New York.
