Madonna is no stranger to experimenting with hair colors, styles, and cuts. While her club dance music has set records for decades, her signature dirty blonde roots have shifted with her persona throughout the pop icon’s life.

Back in 1995, she gave us the first introduction to a strawberry blonde hair color — just barely inching into red — at the MTV Video Music Awards. That year, she took home the award for Best Female Video for her song “Take a Bow.” Cut to the current day on September 26: She introduced a copper red hair color via her TikTok page.

With feathered-cuffed sleeves and all, she walked toward the camera, showcasing seemingly bleached brows and silky-smooth red hair that held its shiny glow down all the way down to her hips. Hairstylist Andy Lecompte and colorist Sergio Garcia colored her roots in deep-brunette hues and faded them at the crown with a copper red colorway.

In Lecompte’s Instagram post showcasing Madonna’s latest red blend, he mentions the artist rocked her choice of color for a special celebration of her son David Banda’s 17th birthday party. From the looks of it, the icon knows how to make an entrance (and throw a party). Throughout the night, she wore a beaded black hat tilted to one side.

The singer just released a new remix of her song “Hung Up,” featuring Dominican rapper Tokischa, too. The two artists have been making waves after the music video was officially released. In the video clip, you’ll get another glimpse of her fiery red hair adorned by a black silky headband.

Madonna’s Erotica studio album will celebrate its 30th anniversary on October 20, 2022. We can’t wait to see what hair color the artist will debut then.
