Joyce Smith, a reporter at the Kansas City Star covering restaurants and retail, is leaving the paper after more than 38 years.
Her CityScape column launched in 1989.
“I will continue to post some restaurant and retail news on social media during this transition,” she wrote on Twitter. “I also have started a longer project and a new volunteer gig.”
Smith attended the University of Kansas.
