Lex Haris

Travel industry news site Skift has hired Lex Haris to be its managing editor.

Haris was previously vice president of editorial for CBSNews.com, but left that position in February 2022.

He was also previously executive editor of investigations at CNN and executive editor of CNNMoney. He had been with CNNMoney from 2001 to 2017, and had been the site’s managing editor from 2007 to 2014.

Among his many accomplishments was taking the CNNMoney staff away from commoditized news gathering, and building out the newsroom with a team of journalists – not only in New York, but in London and Hong Kong.

“That someone of his caliber — previous edit leadership positions at CNN & CBS News — would trust us with the next phase of his career speaks volumes to what we have built here,” said Skift founder Rafat Ali on LinkedIn.

Haris was also executive editor of Individual Investor Magazine.
