Benedikt Kammel, global aviation editorial leader, and Shelly Banjo, managing editor global business for the Americas, sent out the following memo:

Hi everyone, we’re thrilled to announce that Allyson Versprille in our Washington DC bureau is the new aviation regulation reporter, covering agencies like the FAA, the NTSB and the intersection of politics, regulation, and aviation.

Ally joins us from the financial regulation team, where she covered all things crypto, including the collapse of trading juggernaut FTX and the ensuing industry crackdown — so she knows a thing or two about companies in trouble and under the regulatory microscope!

A graduate from the University of Virginia, Ally started her journalistic career about a decade ago as an intern for Bloomberg News in New York on the states and munis team. She then worked as a defense reporter for National Defense Magazine, with a focus on aviation and shipbuilding, before returning to the Bloomberg family in 2016 as a senior reporter for the Bloomberg Industry Group covering tax policy for almost six years.

We can’t wait to have Ally join us and put her extensive regulatory experience to work during this pivotal moment in the aviation industry. Her first full day is April 10, but she’s already begun easing into her new role.

Please add Ally to your message groups and make her feel welcome!

Thank you, Benedikt & Shelly
