Joshua Jamerson has been promoted to deputy political editor in the Washington bureau.

He will report to politics editor Ben Pershing.

Previously, Jamerson was the East Coast bureau chief for U.S. news. He also served as a national politics reporter based in the Washington Bureau and covered the 2022 midterm elections and the future of the U.S. political parties, spending much of his time on the campaign trail reporting from key battleground states and congressional districts.

In 2021, Josh was a finalist for the 2022 Pulitzer for Explanatory Reporting as part of the team that produced the Journal’s “The Tulsa Race Massacre | 100 Years Later” project.
