David Crook

Ex-Wall Street Journal Sunday editor David Crook has been named managing editor of Kiplinger’s Retirement Report, a monthly personal finance newsletter for retirees and those planning their retirements.

Kiplinger’s, which publishes its trademark monthly Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine, kiplinger.com and other print and digital products, was acquired a year ago by Future PLC.

Crook, a long-time WSJ editor, pioneered service journalism at The Journal and ran its Sunday metro-newspaper supplement for its entire 15-year run.

Since 2017, Crook has managed DCReport.org, a website he cofounded with ex-NYT Pultizer Prize winner David Cay Johnston. Crook and Johnston plan to end their involvement with DCreport at the end of the year.
