TL;DR
- The Pixel Tablet has apparently surfaced on Facebook Marketplace.
- The listing also gives us a look at the dock and charger.
- Google’s tablet is only set to launch next year.
Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel Tablet in 2023, being the company’s first slate in several years. Now, it looks like the tablet may have leaked on a major platform.
An apparent Pixel Tablet and dock combo has appeared on Facebook Marketplace, being spotted by ShrimpApplePro on Twitter (h/t: 9to5Google). It’s unclear if the listing is still available as of writing. Check out the gallery below for a better look at the device and dock.
Other notable tablet details spotted here include a black colorway, 256GB of storage, and a look at the UI (including the taskbar and home screen). Otherwise, we also get a good look at the dock and a charging adapter that looks similar to the Nest Hub Max charger.
Tech companies often embed identifying details on their pre-release devices to prevent leaks (e.g. specific patterns on the hardware itself), allowing them to remotely kill these devices if necessary. In saying so, we can’t spot any evidence of this in these shots just yet. But there’s still a chance that whoever buys this device will get a brick instead.
In any event, the news comes after a Pixel 7 prototype appeared on Facebook Marketplace over three months before the official launch date. Furthermore, the Pixel 6a also briefly appeared on Facebook’s third-party storefront over a month before its sale date. So this wouldn’t be the first time we see a Pixel product on Marketplace, and it likely won’t be the last time.
